Tom Calandra

Tom Calandra

Lead Vocals
Initially influenced as a teenager by the likes of Steve Perry, Lou Graham and David Coverdale (to name a.few), Tom is self taught and trained over 30 years and counting..... He gradually gravitated to the vocal talents of Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickinson and Geoff Tate , his love for Metal grew and he began fronting bands in the late 80's (LIXX) and early 90's. After moving to the Houston area around this same time and after a brief stint in Houston area supergroup (Granite), Tom joined forces with Houston heavyweights (Z-LOT-Z), which doubled as the Queensryche Tribute Band (Mindcrime). After 3 records and nearly 10 years in the scene, Tom retired from the music business when he and his wife were expecting their first child. Years later, Tom un-retired to re-kindle his love for music and united with current Houston Metal Band (Echo Temple), who are currently working on their 2nd record. Later, around 2013, incidentally at a Z-LOT-Z reunion show, Tom was approched by Escape founding fathers Joel Gregoire and Bobby Cayton and was asked to join this legendary Houston Journey Tribute Band. Tom was honored to join forces with these Houston Legends in order to pay tribute to one of his childhood hero's. Now, 5 years and counting and relationships that will last a lifetime!
